About Us

Founded in 2022 by me, Ruby Abram, Ashton Food Aid is a community-driven initiative based at St. Bernard's Community Hub in Ashton. Our mission is to provide free emergency food support to individuals and families in Preston who are struggling to afford essentials. We serve the local areas of Larches, Savick, Lea, and surrounding communities, offering a lifeline to those facing food insecurity.

Through the generosity of volunteers, donors, and local organisations, we offer food parcels and essential items to those in need, ensuring that no one has to go without. We provide assistance to individuals referred to us by healthcare providers, social workers, and local charities, as well as those who reach out directly. Each person can access help up to twice a month, and we currently serve over 50 families and individuals every week.

At Ashton Food Aid, we pride ourselves on being a compassionate, non-judgmental service that strives to make those in need feel comfortable and supported. We rely on donations of ambient food, hygiene products, and other essential items to continue meeting the growing demand for our services. Every contribution helps us make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community.

Vision

We envision a future where food insecurity is eradicated, and every individual in our community has access to the food they need to thrive.

Mission

Our mission is to provide free, reliable access to emergency food to individuals and families in Preston, with dignity, respect, and care.

Community Engagement

We believe that by empowering volunteers and donors, we create a stronger, more resilient community where no one is left behind.

Community

Ashton Food Aid is at the heart of our local community, working closely with local partners to provide food and other essentials to those facing hardship. By coming together as a community, we ensure that no one is left behind.

Support

We provide more than just food - we offer a compassionate hand to help individuals and families regain stability and confidence during difficult times. Our services go beyond nourishment, focusing on dignity, respect, and emotional support.

Volunteering

Volunteering is at the core of our success. Whether it’s sorting donations, packing food parcels, or helping with outreach, volunteers play a crucial role in making sure that we can meet the growing demand for our services. Everyone can make a difference.

How we Work

At Ashton Food Aid, we work closely with local organisations, healthcare professionals, and community groups to identify individuals in need of food assistance. Volunteers prepare and distribute food parcels to families and individuals, ensuring that every recipient receives what they need with care and respect. Our operations are entirely volunteer-run, and we rely on donations of food and essential items to sustain our services.
